The
design-led, artsy hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui may be just the thing for art
lovers and collectors visiting Hong Kong for the 2015 edition of Fine
Art Asia, offering as they do a chic and upscale accommodation
experience.
On from 4 to 7 October at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Fine Art Asia 2015 will showcase fine art from the East and the West by 100 prestigious international galleries and including antiques, Old Master paintings, Impressionist and modern art, jewelry and timepieces, Chinese ink paintings, contemporary art, and design and decorative art.
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is situated in Wanchai on Hong Kong Island overlooking the iconic Victoria Harbour. A number of hotels in the surrounding area are within walking distance of the venue while hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon are a quick ride across the harbour on the MTR (Mass Transit Railway).
Another option for those staying at a Tsim Sha Tsui hotel - where the choice includes some of the best design and boutique hotels Hong Kong has to offer - is to take a Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier to Wan Chai Star Ferry Pier.
The hip, lifestyle-oriented boutique and design hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui have helped create the stylish new edge this vibrant and bustling area now enjoys. Properties like Residence G Hong Kong (by Hotel G) where guests can indulge in a cutting edge, in-vogue style accommodation experience. Even the 43 guestrooms carry chic category names - Good, Greater and Greatest.
Tsim Sha Tsui is also home to leading Kowloon luxury hotels like Tsim Sha Tsui and Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers, The Peninsula Hong Kong and Hyatt Regency Hong Kong.
Positioned in the international art world as Asia’s leading annual fine art fair, Fine Art Asia takes place during the peak art season in Hong Kong in October. It is scheduled to coincide with major international art auctions held in the same venue, attracting a high-profile audience of major dealers, collectors, curators, connoisseurs and art lovers from around the world.
Hong Kong is one of the top art auction centres in the world along with London and New York. Sotheby’s has auctions scheduled for Hong Kong on 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 October.
The 2014 edition of Fine Art Asia drew over 23,500 visitors, with 93 exhibitors taking part and more than 6,500 works of art displayed, with a total value of HK$2.8 billion.
Among the galleries returning for Fine Art Asia 2015, in the antiques section, are leading international dealers such as: Rossi & Rossi, London and Hong Kong; Robert Hall, London; Vanderven Oriental Art, The Netherlands; Koopman Rare Art, London; and Somlo Antiques, London. And among those in the modern and contemporary art category: Bowman Sculpture, London; Galerie Dumonteil, Paris, Shanghai and New York; and Whitestone Gallery, Tokyo.
